컨트랙트 취약점과 해킹 기법, 취약점 수정에 초점을 맞추어 포스트를 작성하였습니다.
취약한 컨트랙트
해킹 대상이 된 컨트랙트는 HakunaMatata(CoinToken)로 링크를 통해 확인할 수 있습니다.
위 컨트랙트의 totalSupply가 매우 작을 때(10 이하), PancakeSwap 컨트랙트와의 관계에서 취약점이 발생합니다.

컨트랙트 기능 분석
해당 컨트랙트의 취약점을 분석하기 위해서는 3개의 함수를 보아야 합니다.

각 계정의 balance는 tokenFromReflection 함수를 통해 결정되며, 그 과정에서 _getRate 함수를 이용합니다.
balance가 단순히 토큰의 개수가 아니라 rSupply(rTotal), tSupply(tTotal)과 연관되어 있어 취약점이 발생합니다.

deliver 함수는 해당 account의 balance를 tFee로 교환해주는 함수입니다.
해당 함수를 통하여 _rTotal을 감소시킬 수 있습니다.

burn 함수는 일반적인 토큰의 burn 함수와 같은 기능을 합니다. rOwned와 tTotal의 값을 모두 감소합니다.
_rOwned가 감소하지만 rTotal의 값은 감소하지 않음을 확인할 수 있습니다.
취약점 분석
해당 공격은 Hakunamatata 컨트랙트의 totalSupply가 매우 작을 때(<10)일 때 가능한 공격입니다.
totalSupply가 매우 작을 경우
1. deliver 함수를 통해 rTotal을 감소시켜 _getRate 함수의 결과값을 감소시킬 수 있습니다.
2. burn 함수를 통해 tTotal을 감소시켜 _getRate 함수의 결과값을 증가시킬 수 있습니다.
totalSupply가 작을 경우 위 두 가지의 증가/감소폭이 커져 다른 account의 balance가 감소/증가할 수 있습니다.
공격 순서는 다음과 같으며, 공격 transaction을 함께 살펴보겠습니다.

- Flashloan, Swap 기능을 활용하여 타겟 PancakeSwap 컨트랙트의 Hakunamatata 토큰을 대부분을 가져옵니다.
- deliver 함수를 통해 PancakeSwap 컨트랙트의 Hakunamatata 토큰 balance를 증가시킵니다.
- PancakeSwap 컨트랙트의 Swap 기능을 활용해 Hakunamatata 토큰을 실제 가치가 있는 토큰으로 환전합니다.
2번 과정을 통해 증가한 Hakunamatata 토큰 balance를 PancakeSwap 컨트랙트에서는 우리가 해당 토큰을 준 것으로 인지하기 때문에 토큰을 별도로 전송할 필요가 없습니다. - burn 함수를 통해 PancakeSwap 컨트랙트의 Hakunamatata 토큰 balance를 감소시킵니다.
- 다시 2번부터 반복합니다.
해당 공격은 계산해보면 되게 공격 가능한 대상을 찾기가 어려운 까다로운 공격임을 알 수 있습니다.
실제 공격한 Transaction을 보면 deliver 함수를 통해 토큰 밸런스가 1에서 2로 증가하게 됩니다.
totalSupply가 10인 경우 _getRate 함수의 결과값이 기존의 0.9가 되는데 이를 통해 balance가 변경되려면 기존의 rOwned 값이 특정 수치 이상이어야 공격이 수행 가능합니다.

burn 함수를 확인해보면 _rOwned, _tTotal을 둘 다 같은 크기의 양을 감소시킨다는 것을 확인 가능합니다.
하지만 이전 balance를 계산하는 수치들을 보면 일반적으로 r의 값은 t값에다가 _getRate 함수의 결과값을 곱한 값입니다.
(HakunaMatata token의 _getRate 함수의 결과값 : 3190627353800831872930330168097698065306675895168026328990883522108940739969)
따라서 일반적인 사용자의 _rOwned 값은 _tTotal보다 훨씬 큰 값을 가지고 있으며, burn 함수를 통해 _tTotal을 0으로 만들어버릴 수 있습니다. totalSupply, _getRate 등 다양한 함수에서 _tTotal이 사용된다는 점을 감안하면 이는 해당 토큰을 사용하는 사용자들의 자산을 묶어버리기 때문에 치명적인 취약점입니다.
